SHOP WITH US! On Sunday, November 23, we invite—and encourage!—everyone who calls St. John’s home and is able, to go shopping anytime between 8:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Fill your cart with groceries for others, and bring them back to the church. Hansen’s Market in Elkhorn has generously provided several gift cards to help offset the expense, and all food will be donated to our local mission partner, The Bridge Food and Diaper Pantry.

While we would love to see everyone shopping together on November 23, you’re welcome to bring food anytime between now and then. We’ll have a collection container at the back entrance of the church for drop-offs when the building isn’t open.

It’s a simple way to make a big difference — and who knows, you might run into other St. John’s families doing the same thing! Let’s make it a season of giving, connection, and community.

FOOD BLESSSING Gather your family or whoever you are shopping with and pray this simple prayer of concecration over your gifts before dropping them off:

Lord Jesus, you are the Bread of Life. You taught us, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” We ask you to bless this food, that through it you may fill the stomachs, hearts, and spirits of those who are hungry or thirsty in our community.

Help us to remember your words—that it is more blessed to give than to receive. May you honor this offering, and use us to share your love with our neighbors. Let every can, box, and bag remind us of your goodness and your care for all people.

In your holy name we pray, Amen.‍
