Join Pastor Tom on Tuesdays September - May at 9:00 a.m. at St. John's as we take a deeper dive into the Bible and the past week's sermon, based on the churchwide series "the big picture". All are welcome, including those who have not been part of our Tuesday morning Bible study in the past. No need to sign up, just join us!

St. John's Students is BACK! Middle & High School Students - mark your calendars! EVERY.THIRD.WEDNESDAY. kicks off on September 17 from 6-8 PM and we're diving right in (literally) with water balloon volleyball! Get ready to cool off, catch up with friends and leaders, bring your competitive spirit, and enjoy a taco bar with all the fixings. After the volleyball match, we'll gather for dinner & small group discussions, led by your awesome leaders, Steve & Matt. Plus, Pastor Tom will welcome new & returning confirmation students as he introduces a monthly opportunity to explore what it means to affirm the faith into which you were baptized. Bring a towel, your energy, and your appetite - we can't wait to see you there!

On July 20, St. John's unanimously voted to call Pastor Eric Haskins as our new Associate Pastor—and he accepted! He’ll officially begin ministry on Sunday, August 24 at our Annual Church Picnic, Baptisms & Worship at Babe Mann Park. He will be formally installed during both worship services on Sunday, September 21, with a cake reception to follow. Let’s give him and his family a warm St. John’s welcome by filling his inbox with encouragement: pastoreric@stjohnselkhorn.com. We’re excited for this next chapter—stay tuned!

We'll bring the pizza, you'll bring your thoughts - and together, we'll dive into meaningful discussions that connect with you everyday life. E.F.W. runs from 7:30-9:00 PM. Generations Meal + Gathering | Join us at St. John's on Wednesday, October 8 at 11:00 AM for an opportunity for our seniors and friends to share in a casual meal and time together. St. John's is a growing multi-generational family of faith committed to our mission to love God and love others in a way that brings hope to the world. There will be a catered lunch by Annie's. Pumpkin Patch Sunday | St. John’s KIDS! is hosting a Pop-Up Pumpkin Patch Party on Sunday, October 12, following the 10:00 AM service! The first 50 children will receive a free pumpkin to take home! When Jesus had to choose twelve disciples to pour His life into, what did He do? He spent the night in prayer. After a busy ministry schedule with the disciples, Jesus invited them to “come with Me, by yourselves, to a quiet place and get some rest.” Jesus followed the Spirit’s prompting into the wilderness for forty days to prepare for temptation. Luke tells us that “Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer.” –Luke 5:16, NLT There was a pattern and rhythm to the life of Jesus. This pattern forces us to ask, “If Jesus set aside extended times of retreat to stay focused on the Father and listen to the Spirit, how can we not do the same?” Think of your family vacation. Why do you take one? Vacations are a great way to reconnect with family, to recharge our relational and many times physical batteries. Retreats serve much of the same purpose in regard to our relationship with God and are a powerful means to create space for us to: Worship – engaging our heart through song and prayer to love and be loved by God. Grow – engaging our mind to reflect and listen to important aspects of our inner life that are typically kept silenced and hidden away. Serve – engaging our hands to live in a Christlike sacrificial way towards others in the normal flow of your life–realizing you are free to love because you are freely loved.
